Shalom, Salaam, Barechu, Azan
All echoes of the same one God
Neither, Torah teaches, nor, Quran
That faith is salvaged by fear’s sword!
How long will this madness go on
Between, brethren of, estranged creeds
When posterity becomes a pogrom’s pawn
More than motherhood, divinity bleeds!
Divided by faith, unified by fear
In the throes of present, theories of past
Will war once more for, one more year
Whilst world watches this bloodbath, aghast!
Why little dreams die in war’s wasteland
In this hate’s ritual where men kill men
There’s more blood in its sin-ister sand
Than dread in destiny’s poison-pen!
Why count who killed whose people more
Economics of hate, ain’t, always that straight
War is manhood’s mean metaphor
Only poor pawns perish in kings’ checkmate!
Victims of wars, pilgrims of pains
Whose faith is only innocence
Now no more than mortal remains
Martyrs of immortal insolence!
Why wail o’er them, they will not rise
Who’ve lost to war every beat, every breath
Why should they pay this pogrom’s price
The ANGELS IN CRADLES OF DEATH!
