Those fests of hate, fiestas of pain
Past screams to present “Vengeance never ends”
Alas! This world will bleed again
Life will pay death hate’s dividends!

The third one ain’t that far away
Neither manhood nor its gun will rust
Machismo’s measure is mean melee
Martyrdom baptized by vain blood-lust!

Have past world wars yet failed to change
The hatred, fear, of a thousand years
Why outlasts man, his vow of revenge
Whilst mothers bleed a million tears!

Will legacy of that holocaust
Redeem, man’s mean metaphors
Alas, persist, they ain’t yet lost
LASTING SCARS OF THE TWO WORLD WARS!
