The Fearsome Streets Of Khartoum

Many mutinies sum up destiny
Of a nation that endures a war
In every home mourns litany
When gore is misery’s metaphor!

A bullet has just silenced a child
Who wailed whole night without a dream
In faith’s funeral fear smiled, reviled
While a mother learnt to mourn with a scream!

The political price of power stirs
Many riots of ethnic aftermath
Sudan is a sum of its disasters
Baptized by Allah’s wrath!

They tremble with war’s every boom
To leave lasting legends of doom
In the farms of faith is fear abloom
The Fearsome Streets Of Khartoum!
