I’m A Stranger In My Town

Where have we lost those cobbled streets
That shined for miles with morning mist
I’m all but lost where the trinity meets
Enigma of an Alchemist!

Those clay houses are mortar now
Safeguarded by four stony walls
Our old church looks holier-than-thou
More than its once humble recalls!

That shady tree which was my school
Is no more than a rotting stump
The age of innocence ain’t miniscule
It brings to my throat time’s lasting lump!

Alas, I found in my pursuit
What once I knew is now unknown
Only one truth seems so absolute
I’m A Stranger In My Town!
