A Dragon And Her Estranged Son

Still tethered, to that, umbilical cord
A legacy, lost to, time’s travesty
A nation, lives, a ritualized accord
Enforced, by the, dragon’s dynasty!

Each street smolders, for, there is war
Between, the present, and the past
A mother, resents, son’s new avatar
“How my son, became, an iconoclast!”

Who battle, today, for democracy
How come, they swear, by the British régime
Two façades, of, same hypocrisy
Whose heritage, do they, now redeem!

At history’s, crossroads, distanced kin
Play out, their, last shenanigan –
‘Hong Kong’s sin, Chinese chagrin’
A Dragon And Her Estranged Son!
