The Lone Martyr Of His Town

Stands tall today, the pride, of war
O’er tomb, of a lad, who chose to be
Man’s metaphor, of love, for gore
At the, crossroads of, vain chivalry!

Each soul, in town, is proud today
At last, they got, their mascot too
A name, and a face, for their, pride’s malaise
Black flag, flaps now, where a garden, once grew!

Whilst his paeans, are town’s, new anthem now
His widow’s tears, their spectacle
The scars, on his, vanquished soul, avow
War is, a sin, forgettable!

Is sacrifice, noblest virtue, or human stain!
Life prides, herself in, death’s renown
While his clan revels, he lay in pain, with his glory vain
The Lone Martyr Of His Town!
