Shalom Shalom Shalom Israel …

The rose, that blooms, in the desert’s soul
Since that saga, of the Promised Land
How many histories, paid the toll
Of the, ethos etched, firmly in sand!

From banishment, to the holocaust
A faith endured, fate’s travesty
Yet smiled, in pain, who hadn’t lost
Fortitude’s farms, in a patch dusty

Could truer be, more destiny
Than the conquest of, blood, sweat and tears
From the dust, arose new Anno Domini
Devouring heart, of bygone fears!

We’ve mined, our élan, from the stone
Pilgrims no more, of Biblical exile
May ‘God Prevail From Jerusalem’s Throne’
Shalom, Shalom, Shalom Israel…!
