Before I Die

A soul I sell, to life’s errand
A heart that throbs, an endless toll
Whose commandments, I understand
More than, the calling, of my soul!

Obliged to be, a legacy
To pedigree, of a squandered clan
Is redemption, a heresy?
If you ain’t purist, you ain’t a man!

Had death, not been, the end of me
I wouldn’t sleep, to make a dream
Nor wake up, with a reborn spree
From the clasp of death, for a life to redeem!

Beyond the chores, of existence
Is the substance, of soul, to glorify
I won’t be sold, to world’s pretense
I’ll live to death, Before I Die!
