A Patch In The Wood

Could blessed be more, a subsistence
Than a forlorn being, in naïveté’s bliss
Was worth that life, a lingering dalliance
Thus far, which spent, a man amiss!

The lush lap I left, an eon back
To be the best, of beasts evolved
That race to be, ahead of the pack
Never ended, nor that quest unsolved!

The search for self, is all that remains
And a thousand years of, lost solace
It took so long, to free from chains
A lusting man, from his pride pious!

No more afraid, a nameless man
Now soars, where his shadow stood
To trace his trail, from a misled clan
Where it all began, A Patch In The Wood!
