A Harlot’s Lullaby

“Had the moon not been, a nights’ affair
Nor the stars, lost legends, in the dark
I’d suckle you dreams, before I bare
My heart so hurt, and my soul so stark!

Tentacles galore; seeds the sin, twilight
When men chase flesh, of fleeting mates
Don’t you know me son, beyond this night?
I’m a mother too, which a woman awaits!

Could more be profound, a cradlesong
That lasts an age, on borrowed time
Worth the pain, this bliss, that loves to long
With the sweetest milk, for a sin sublime!

Dare you grow so soon, like my latent fear!
To find, a whore, without an alibi
Won’t you sing along, an oath austere
Like the soul, of A Harlot’s Lullaby!”
