Last Menses Of Monsoon

vikas chandra

Never sweet before, lingered petrichor
Like a parting gift, of last blood-bath
Betwixt her haunches, fests galore
Won’t last yonder, this aftermath!

Where sprouted seed, of blood orchid
To blossom; a lassie lost in rain
Now stands alone, a tomb sordid
Of a woman, with motherhood’s pain!

To be redeemed, from destiny’s sin
And bear and rear, posterity’s seed
Hold the rain and thunder, both within
For a rosy rainbow, bleed and bleed!

Shall she rain, sans blood, from tomorrow’s sky?
O’er the mortal patch, with vicissitudes strewn
With a thorn against, her heart, magpie
Bleeds the blues, of her last monsoon!
