Passion’s All, That Lasts

vikas chandra

Eternal ain’t just, love’s cherished creed
Bloodbaths too herald, renaissance of age
Beyond war and peace, buds passion’s seed
But then, sweetest, are the grapes of rage

What Troys did bear, and Kalingas sowed
No different from what, Romeos, Juliets avowed
Pure passion at play, in the history’s yard
Peace’s whispers never perish, in the pride’s boulevard

Supreme faith is of passion, beyond any conviction
Van Gogh’s stark obsession, in the face of oblivion
More profound than religion, that ensued, Christ’s crucifixion
Who lavished blood on passion, Lord’s true prodigal son!

Transcending love and pain, and the sum of all fears
That fury failed to succumb, to the dust of pasts
Thru time’s upheavals, beyond history’s frontiers
Beyond death’s delusions, Passion’s All That Lasts!
