Heart had once been, blood’s naïve pump
Not the sacrosanct shrine, love made of it
Why bards made a world, of this mortal lump
And love, eternal sin, we all commit
Forsake yourself, for the sake of that dream!
Which never is ours, never ever, had been
Why we treasure a pain, for a love to redeem
And suckle that venom, so hard to wean
Oh! That binding need, cupid’s sinful seed
Which costs a soul, heart’s hegemony
Who’s vanquished whom, in this war decreed?
Betwixt yearning selves, so spent in spree!
Why’s love’s utopia built, on grace’s grave?
Why blooms a haunting love, on the blood of Troy?
Why on heart’s debris, love’s path we pave?
Why love’s a willing, pain’s decoy, A Devil’s Ploy!
