Who ain’t alone?

The one that sank, once ripples, it made
For the world to see, and then to fade
In the abyss of time, that solitary stone
In this realm sublime, who ain’t alone?

Yearning, a divine creed, ever to long
When pain cries out, to sing a song
Which hearts pledge, and souls atone
At the life’s edge, who ain’t alone?

A million missives, of the heart
Unheard, unread, though torn apart
Etch an epic, each shred, why bemoan
Who ain’t pain-fed, who ain’t alone?

The season of love, that heart adored
A lone man drowned, could he afford?
Mean rites of pain, to the heart, unknown
In this unsparing rain, who ain’t alone?

When stood amidst crowd, a crowd, I became
Just yet another man, without a name
Felt solitude’s dead, shall that life condone?
Who bore that dread, who ain’t alone?

Slept with souls, who warmed my bed
Forlorn but found, that dream instead
Which reaped the yields, of that germ grown
In the haunting fields, who ain’t alone?

A house I held, house holder to be
With my kin, my world, would I be lonely?
A myth so sweet, like a borrowed loan
Cut to the bone, replete, who ain’t alone?

Stared stark at me, in the echo of time
Bore passage of life, a binding crime
Stands deserted, a bare man, thrown
In this banished clan, who ain’t alone?

That creed I got, when born, to ever last
To love my class, spurn the rest, outcast
Thrived me, a sole tree, from a sinful seed, sown
In a breed, born to bleed, who ain’t alone?

How heartless, the truth, alas, so true
Lonesome in my grave, will I bid adieu?
To a life, that spent me, to then disown
Beyond life’s lone plea, death’s last decree, who ain’t alone?
