If you don’t come tonight

If you don’t come tonight
Haze of hope will fade, my wasteland, will heave in sight
Where stands my forlorn self, on a dying dune
What a tomb, you made me, O’ love, to my angst’s delight
Once summed up our passion, that solitary tune
Shall it sigh with waning wisps, bewail that spirit’s plight?
If you don’t come tonight

If you don’t come tonight
The moon would still rise, bid “cheerio” to, crimson twilight
But my heart will sink, past my soul’s brink
From the moonlit roof, every alley gazed, thru love’s insight
Swear, the eyes won’t blink, at last, but drink
Dregs of a yearning, from the goblet of pain, alas, love’s rite
If you don’t come tonight

If you don’t come tonight
Will this wait end, alas, not the least, for you incite
The man in me, whose lot’s to long
A spent up dream, as a bereft lovebird, tweeting trite
His heart out, a throbbing, swan song
Don’t tease my creed, wish thy heart too bleeds, it might
If you don’t come tonight

If you don’t come tonight
Will add to life, another night, an episode contrite
Ain’t you the one, fate chose to be
Baptized the “love” for me; beholds in you, outright
A cherished dream, “Oh dear me!”
Yet bears my soul, alas, the doleful decree, forthright
If you don’t come tonight

If you don’t come tonight
This night will pass away, deafened by endless moments quiet
Where roosts that love, forsaken
On a shred of shade retaken, I clasp that waif, with hope alight
Why this insane faith, unshaken?
Come what may, it blazes thru the nightfall, till the twain unite
If you don’t come tonight
