The Face Of God

The cherished one, who sees us through
Would he show His guise, to see us awed?
His signs abound, that we look up to
Would different be the face of God?

Not far, across the scorching street
Little angel stands, against the odd
Peddling candies bare-feet, with a smile as sweet
Would different be the face of God?

The fireman, who puffed his last, at last
Every soul salvaged, his life seesawed
As he beamed past, the blaze steadfast
Would different be the face of God?

“Don’t spare his sins, but spare this man”
Pled for a felon, his heart truly thawed
A mother bereaved , who lost her clan
Would different be the face of God?

For a possessed man, love feeds on pain
He deifies it, beyond heaven’s laud
Who torches soul, for a heart insane
Would different be the face of God?

In the wilderness, every vista blessed
Horizon yearns to kiss the land, as they plod
Past sublime sunset, every crumb caressed
Would different be the face of God?
